Honda to recall defective Acura cars in China

Xinhua | Updated: 2017-11-27 13:24

BEIJING - Japanese automaker Honda will begin recalling 3,524 luxury Acura cars in China on Jan 8, 2018 due to defective side mirror switches, according to China's top quality regulator.

The recall was filed with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine by Honda Motor (China) Limited and GAC Honda Automobile Co.

The recall involves imported vehicles of Acura MDX sport utility vehicles manufactured between 2013 and 2017 and TLX sedans manufactured between 2014 and 2015.

The side mirrors in some of the above mentioned vehicles may fold unintendedly due to abrasion of parts inside the rear-view mirror switches, which can cause partial blocking of the driver's rear view and will pose safety hazards for people inside.

Recalled cars will have the faulty parts replaced free of charge, their makers promised.
