Another featured band is Yishi, which means doctor and teacher in Chinese, referring to the two founders' occupations.

Launched by veterinarian You Miao and teacher Lin Quanhong in 2010, the band now has seven members and is known for songs in the Sichuan dialect.

Besides the bands, eight guest celebrities like singer Tan Weiwei, musician Cheng Lin and Ara Kimbo, a pioneer of the Taiwan folk music scene in the 1960s, appear in the show.

Chen says the inspiration for the show came from his involvement with a series of outdoor musical festivals.
