Li lauded the Kenyan government for attaching great importance to gender equality, enacting laws that protect women’s rights and making great efforts to empower women.

She called herself lucky for having known outstanding Kenyan women.

"I admire Margaret Kenyatta, Kenya's first lady for founding and pushing forward the Beyond Zero program, that has greatly improved the quality of lives of women and children. I also admire Amina Mohammed and Monica Juma, two women cabinet secretaries who have worked very hard to enhance Kenya's international influence," she said.
