Indian students dream big in Xi'an

Three Indian students Ali Raheman, Adlin and Pavan who have been studying in Xi'an Jiaotong University, recently got a business license for their company in Xi'an, the capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

"I was surprised that it took only 20 minutes to complete all the procedures for China Trimark Technologies to produce Redoxer, a wearable medical device," says Ali, 21, who has been studying in China for three years.

Ali, who has been studying clinical medicine since 2015, began working on developing the wearable medical device with the help of his father in 2012.

Ali brought his research to Xi'an when he came to China, where he got to know Adlin and Pavan, who teamed up with him. They then decided to base the company in Xi'an, and to produce the device in the city as well. But they faced difficulties on realizing their goal, as they knew little about the regulations and procedures of the registration.

Then, they got help from the Beilin University-based Innovative Industrial District and the Tencent Entrepreneurship Incubator.

With their help, Ali and his friends were introduced to the local government, and their issue was quickly taken care of by the local bureau of industry and commerce. In about 20 minutes at the local government's comprehensive service hall, their company was successfully registered and they finally obtained the license.

Ali says Xi'an is now his second home and feels the company will taste success in the city-the starting point of the ancient Silk Road linking China and the world, which is now an important part of the Belt and Road Initiative.

"My partners and I will repay our university and the city," says Ali.
