Not until eight years ago at the World Cup in South Africa did a Chinese company for the first time in history sponsor the big global sporting event, with the rolling advertisement for Yingli Solar, a Chinese solar panel manufacturer, appearing at the stadium during the game.
This year's World Cup will be held in 11 cities in Russia from June 14 to July 15. It is a leap that so far five Chinese companies have become the official sponsors of the tournament this year.
Let's check out who they are.
Dalian Wanda Group
Property-entertainment conglomerate Wanda signed up with FIFA to become its top-level sponsor partner in March 2016 and the contract will remain until 2030.
