The fifth China Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo will be held in Jinan, capital of Shandong province, from Sept 13 to 17, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The bi-annual event is currently the largest Intangible Cultural Heritage event in China. Stage performances, exhibitions, competitions and interactive exhibits will take place over the course of the Expo. About 200 Intangible Cultural Heritage inheritors from across the nation will demonstrate their crafts onsite, and forums will be organized to share case studies and explore solutions for difficulties facing the preservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The expo will be segmented into eight independent sections: embroidery, tea-making, traditional Chinese medicine and furniture, among others, in order to give people with particular interests a more tailored visiting experience.
Branch activities relating to the expo will also be held among 300 residential communities and 25 schools, in order to have greater interaction with local residents.
