Zhuo said KUCI is currently the largest Confucius Institute in Kenya for Chinese language teaching and Chinese language examinations and is developing toward a comprehensive institute integrating teaching, cultural exchanges and academic research.

To better spread Chinese language and culture in Kenya, KUCI has already established one Confucius classroom in Rusinga Schools and the second one in USIU is under construction.

This year, the institute sent a delegation of 21 students for summer camp and a total of 26 scholarship students to China. Among them, 2 students are pursuing degrees in Chinese language and literature and they will stay in China for four years. Nineteen others will stay in China for one year for language immersion, while 5 are on a particular martial arts program.
