Exploring Picasso’s genius through masterpieces
When speaking of Picasso’s artistic genius, his romance with women emerges as an eternal topic. According to curator and artist Su Meiyu, Picasso painted many women in his life and was fond of female company even in his final years.
During the exhibition, paintings such as Women at Their Toilette and Portrait of Dora Maar show his admiration for women.
Women at Their Toilette (299×448 cm) is a huge collage, with wallpaper cutouts, glue and watercolor on paper mounted on canvas, placing Picasso's three lovers in one painting.
"Picasso is a man of great insight. His eyes seem to observe women and the world at all times. And his greatness lies in his ability to turn what he saw in life into a work of art," said Su, adding that the moment his eyes had turned toward you, you were his inspiration.
