APEC kicks off year of inclusive and sustainable growth

Trade and sectoral officials from the 21 APEC member economies will gather in Chile on March 7– 8 to hold the APEC Senior Officials' Meeting, intent on finding multilateral solutions to the challenges that the Asia-Pacific will face this coming decade. It's the first of four to be held this year in Chile.

Chile's 2019 agenda prioritizes initiatives that will help empower underrepresented sectors by improving their access to the economy through digital breakthroughs and creating opportunities for better jobs, wages and quality of life.

APEC officials will also focus on environmental initiatives, as well as a range of other pressing issues.
