ChrysantheMum Pot for the Queen
What Since Mum's the word for May, The Drunken Pot turns back the pages of history for its Mother's Day hotpot tribute to Empress Dowager Cixi (1835–1908). Famed for her extravagant imperial lifestyle and her obsession with beauty, the Qing Dynasty ruler insisted on having freshly picked chrysanthemum petals sprinkled on her hotpot to stay young-looking. The ChrysantheMum Pot for the Queen (HK$288) can be ordered à la carte or in a set menu from May 1 to 31 at the fashionable sister restaurants in Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay. With its smooth egg white topping, the Insta-worthy pot is sprinkled with edible flowers for a rich texture and a luscious sheen resembling an imperial gown.
