Uruguay, wedged like a diamond glittering between Brazil and Argentina, is a country on the Atlantic coast of South America that boasts diverse natural tourism resources for its unique oceanic climate, as well as rich and dynamic Latin American culture that captivates the world.
A promotional seminar, organized within the framework of the 60th anniversary of China-Uruguay parliamentary friendly exchanges, took place Tuesday at the Uruguay embassy in Beijing to present the country’s two gems– the Cabo Polonio National Park and tango, Uruguay’s national treasure that was added to the UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2009.
Fernando Lugris, Uruguayan ambassador to China, attended the event and offered an overview of his country’s new projects and development in the tourism sector.
The ambassador also noted that this event is part of the efforts to promote cultural exchanges between China and Uruguay, especially among people. “Culture is one of the main engines of our friendship,” Lugris said.
