The 20th edition of Marintec China, a showcase of the latest maritime technologies and products, will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from Dec 3 to 6.

Organized by the Shanghai arm of the Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SSNAME) and Informa Markets, the event aims to reflect 40 years of maritime technology development and is one of the largest and most influential maritime exhibitions in the world.

According to Xing Wenhua, chairman of the organizing committee of Marintec China, the highlight of this year's exhibition is on products related to smart shipping, luxury cruises, gas carriers and green technology. Xing noted that the application of 5G technology in the maritime industry will be one of the highlights of the forum.

Marintec China was launched 1979 and has since become a biennial event held in Shanghai.
