Kenya based Chinese firms invest over $75 million in social responsibility

Ababu Namwamba, the chief administrative secretary in the Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said Kenya-China relationship is a good example of how two nations, people and cultures can come together to share a prosperity.

Namwamba said through the CSR activities the Chinese firms enables the Kenyan communities to appreciate the ties between the two countries.

"When you travel across the country, you can see and feel the impact of the work that the Chinese association members are doing," he said.

Namwamba called on Chinese enterprises to take advantage of Kenya's strategic location as a regional hub for information and communications technology, transport as well as its well-educated human capital to access the continental market.

"I also encourage you to take advantage of the recently adopted Continental Free Trade Area, which is expected to create one of the largest free trade areas of 1.2 billion people, a population that is projected to grow to 2.5 billion by 2050," he said.
