Li Chang, the chairman of Kenya China Economic and Trade Association, said Chinese enterprises are paying attention to creating jobs and accelerating technology transfer to cultivate more local talents, in adherence to the principle of "teaching a man to fish instead of giving him fish, you help him for a lifetime".
He cited Avic International which has provided training programs in 134 local colleges, universities and schools, covering 10 professional skills, such as mechanical processing, electronic and electrical engineering, automobile maintenance and agricultural products processing.
Li noted that for the past ten years, Huawei has been making annual donation of about $100,000 to Kenya for environment and wildlife protection, which goes to the many community projects in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and surrounding areas.
