Mafengwo aims to marketing destinations via travel tips

Chinese tourism website Mafengwo held a conference about tourism e-commerce in Beijing on Dec 19, with presence of over 800 representatives of tourism businesses from home and abroad.

"For the tourism industry, its common goal is to develop the industry in a high quality way. The conference is just in time for the topic," said Dai Bin, head of China Tourism Academy.

He said Mafengwo is not only an e-commerce platform, with various tourism products available, but also a community where many customers will read its travel tips before their purchase.

Mafengwo's co-founder and CEO Chen Gang said that in the era of the interaction-centered experience economy, new ways of consumption in the tourism industry are emerging. Mafengwo will work with its partners to create new travel experience for tourists with its user-generated travel tips.
