Two officials from Wuhan's Huangpi district in Central China's Hubei province were put under investigation for discipline violation after a contractor of the local funeral administration used a contracted funeral vehicle to transport personal materials, the local government said on Sunday.
On Saturday, the discipline watchdogs of the Huangpi district received a report from members of the public that a local community used a funeral vehicle to transport materials purchased by a group.
After an investigation, the watchdogs found a contractor at the local funeral administration, surnamed Lv, illegally used the funeral vehicle to deliver daily supplies to his relatives in Jiang'an district on Saturday afternoon.
The materials were Lv's personal purchases instead of a group purchase by the community, the local government said, adding that Lv's behavior has caused adverse social impact.
The Huangpi District Discipline Inspection Commission has urged the funeral administration to lift the contract with Lv and look into his liability for breaching the contract, according to law.
Ao Haoyu, head of the funeral administration, was removed from his post and put under investigation. Luo Wenjun, a member of the Party committee and also the deputy head of the district's civil affairs bureau, also was put under investigation for violating Party discipline.
