Nreal to develop mixed reality technology in Wuxi

A Beijing-based technology company called Nreal agreed to build a base for mixed reality glasses in Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND) on March 20.

The company will spend over 2 billion yuan ($281 million) building a production center and R&D center covering an area of 20,000 square meters in WND. It will include six core optical machine production lines and complete machine production lines. It is expected to produce one million sets of the glasses in 2020.

The Wuxi base will provide 600 jobs, 40 percent of which will be for technical talent with master's degree or above in research and development related to mixed reality technology. Over 100 proprietary technologies are expected to be developed in Wuxi.
