Beijing will join hands with Amsterdam to remove disruption and safeguard the stability of industrial chains and supply chains, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Friday.

During talks with Dutch Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wopke Hoekstra on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Wang said the globalization benefited all parties and was an inevitable trend of the progress of human society.

Wang stressed the move to politicize the economic and trade cooperation and engage in exclusive circles not only violated the law of economy but also hampered post-pandemic recovery.

He pledged that China would carry out opening up on a larger scale and deeper level and reach out to broader areas.

As the year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, Wang said China would like to work with the Netherlands to practice the open and pragmatic partnership for comprehensive cooperation and promote bilateral relations to scale to new heights.

For his part, Hoekstra said the Netherlands attaches great importance to its friendship with China and spoke highly of the fruitful results achieved over the past half century.

He said Amsterdam hoped to maintain high-level exchanges and deepen practical cooperation with Beijing to better deliver benefits to the peoples of two countries based on the principles of equality, mutual benefit and mutual respect.

As the Russia-Ukraine conflict had global ramifications, he said the Netherlands advocated adhering to the multilateralism and hoped China could play an important role in the regard.

In response, Wang said China would continue to facilitate dialogue for peace and supported the European Union in playing a constructive role in finding a feasible solution to the Ukraine issue.
