China will work with all parties to jointly abide by the basic norms of international relations of respecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and safeguard peace and stability of the region and the world at large, State Councilor and Foreign Ministry Wang Yi said.
He made the remarks on Wednesday during a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on the sidelines of ASEAN-plus foreign ministers' meeting in Cambodian capital Phnom Penh.
Amid the turbulent and unstable international situation, Wang said major countries should take the lead to advocate practicing multilateralism and observe the United Nations Charter.
He said the United States, however, was openly challenging China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as damaging peace and stability across the Taiwan Straits, adding the US' "dangerous and stupid" move has drawn condemnation from the international community.
Cavusoglu said Turkey firmly believes in the one-China principle, which is embodied not only on the Taiwan question but also on Xinjiang-related issues.
Turkey welcomed the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet's visit to Xinjiang in May and hoped to maintain communication with China on Turkish delegation's visit to Xinjiang, he added.
Cavusoglu said Turkey sticks to multilateralism and opposes unilateralism. As the Ukraine crisis has brought severe challenges to global economic recovery, Turkey stands ready to strengthen solidarity with China to respond to dilemmas such as food security, he added.
Wang said China appreciates Turkey's active mediation in pushing for a Ukrainian grain export agreement, and supports its constructive role in achieving a soft landing of the Ukraine crisis.
According to Wang, China has provided more than 30,000 tons of emergency humanitarian food aid to urgently needed developing countries. China also put forward a cooperation initiative on global food security at the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in July.
China will continue to play a constructive role in addressing global food security challenges, Wang said.
As Xinjiang-related issues are China's internal affairs, Wang said China is open and transparent on the Xinjiang-related issues and welcomes Turkey's delegation to visit the region.
