The 2022 Zhongguancun Forum will be held in Beijing, China and in countries worldwide from Nov 25 to 30, with this year's theme entitled "Open Cooperation for a Shared Future."

The forum will feature 126 events, including 60 sub-forums on topics such as brain-computer interfaces, energy security and carbon neutrality. There will also be 22 sub-venues of the forum, which will be held in a total of 14 countries, including the United Kingdom and Germany.

Liang Yingda, director of the Department of Strategy and Planning of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said the Zhongguancun Forum has become a national level platform for exchanges and cooperation in science, technology and innovation.

"The latest forum showcased China's determination to conduct high-level dialogue and exchanges with the world, and our commitment to share the fruits of its development, forge global consensus and shoulder its responsibility to build a community with a shared future for mankind," he said.

Xu Qiang, director of the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, said the number of sub-forums being featured this year is 2.4 times more than in 2021. They will showcase some pioneering achievements in artificial intelligence, block chain, meta-verse, brain sciences and quantum computing.

More than 110 world-class scientists, including 15 Nobel laureates, will give speeches during the global event, which will include over 1,000 guests and participants from 70 countries and regions, with more than 200 representatives from foreign governments and international organizations.

Moreover, there will be an international technology trading conference that will display over 3,000 scientific and technological achievements from over 2,000 participants from nearly 40 countries and regions.

The goal of this event is to facilitate cooperation and build a more open, active and efficient ecosystem for international technology trade, he said.

"The Zhongguancun Forum has become more prestigious and internationalized," Xu said.
