Shanghai Jinshan launches 10 key projects to promote high-tech green growth

Jinshan district, Shanghai, launched 10 key projects, covering intelligent equipment, new materials, life health, information technology and other strategic emerging industries, on Tuesday.

It is accelerating Jinshan's development as Shanghai's bay area, promoting industrial upgrading and green development of the district .

Since this year, Jinshan has attracted 102 projects with planned investment of 32.21 billion yuan ($4.51 billion), including six project with a single investment exceeding 1 billion yuan. Fourteen new industrial projects, with a total planned investment of 10.09 billion yuan, have started operation.

Taybo Technology, a high-tech enterprise specializing in the production of integrated systems for automotive air conditioning, settled down in Jinshan in 2018. It has achieved independent research and development and self-production of core components for integrated automotive air conditioning. Taybo sobtained more than 200 R&D patents and was awarded the national "small giant enterprise" title.

Jinshan has become home of a series of such kind enterprises. Since this year, 127 enterprises specialized in new technology moved into Jinshan, an increase of 135 percent compared with last year; while 18 of them are "small giant enterprises", an increase of 50 percent.

"Today we launched five new materials projects, all are the 'future stars' of the new materials industry," and official of Jinshan district said. The projects cover new battery, green paper, painting materials and so on.

Jinshan district is accelerating the pace of industrial transformation to establish modern industrial system. New materials projects will vigorously promote the development of green high-end 100-billion-yuan chemical industry here, said the official.

In the future, Jinshan will firmly promote the ecological transformation of the chemical park, accelerate the development of carbon fiber composites, hydrogen energy, electronic chemicals and other emerging industries.
