China and Thailand sign MoU on e-commerce cooperation

China and Thailand have signed a memorandum of understanding on e-commerce cooperation, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday in an online statement.
The MoU was signed on Nov 19 by Wang Wentao, China's commerce minister, and Jurin Laksanawisit, Thai deputy prime minister and commerce minister, the MOC said.
According to the MoU, the two sides will establish an e-commerce cooperation mechanism, and promote high-quality product trade between them.
They will also strengthen cooperation in logistics, distribution, electronic payment and more, carry out cooperation on joint research and capacity building, create a good environment for the development of e-commerce in the two countries, and further expand new channels for bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Up to date, China has established a bilateral e-commerce cooperation mechanism with 27 countries, including Thailand, to jointly carry out practical cooperation in fields such as policy communication, industrial coordination, capacity building and local-level cooperation, in order to create open, inclusive, mutually beneficial and win-win "Silk Road E-commerce" Partnerships.
