China Eastern Airlines, which is expected to operate the world's first commercial flight for C919 in spring, launched a three-day training program for its flight attendants starting on Wednesday.
Chosen from more than 6,000 candidates at China Eastern's cabin department, the 25-member team is the second batch of flight attendants from the Shanghai-based carrier to receive the corresponding training before they serve for future C919 flights.
During the three days' training, stewards will go through a full range of training subjects including theory on the aircraft model, evacuation equipment and procedures, a theoretical assessment, as well as emergency operations.
The airline has also planned to launch the second round of training for 12 C919 pilots after the Chinese New Year.
China Eastern received China's first domestically developed narrow-body passenger jet C919 on December 9, and launched the 100-hour validation flight process on December 26.
The first batch of 9 pilots, 24 flight attendants and 13 maintenance personnel have completed their training for the particular aircraft model, the carrier said earlier last week.
