Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will make an official visit to China starting from Tuesday, after receiving an invitation from Premier Li Qiang, Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said on Friday.
He told a regular news conference that Beijing and Moscow will exchange views on bilateral ties, pragmatic cooperation and issues of common concern during the visit.
The two-day tour will also bring Mishustin to Shanghai, where he will attend the Russia-China Business Forum, the Kremlin said.
Particular attention will be given to industry, energy, transport infrastructure and agriculture during the visit, and a number of bilateral agreements is expected to be signed, the Kremlin said.
As neighbors and major emerging economies, China and Russia have strong resilience as well as great potential and space for cooperation, Wang said.
President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Russia in March, during which the two heads of state reached important consensus on the development of bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields in the next stage, the spokesman noted.
The announcement of the visit came when the G7 Summit is being held in Japan.
Commenting on the timing of the visit, Wang said cooperation between China and Russia does not target any third party, nor will it be interfered or coerced by any third party.
He said China has always carried out normal trade cooperation with countries including Russia on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
