Experts and artists gave their commendation at the opening ceremony, including vice-dean of China National Academy of Painting Xu Lian, professor from the Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University Liu Jude, and dean of Beijing Fine Art Academy Wu Hongliang.

Luo, now 91, expressed his gratitude in his speech, and a seminar was held in tandem in which experts evaluated his work in detail.

"We hope that through this exhibition, the audience can enter his world of art and, more importantly, get to know that generation of artists, understanding the warmth of their personality and the level of their artistic creations. This could be beneficial for our art creation and research," said Yu Yang, professor from Central Academy of Fine Arts and curator of the exhibition.
