To better support the development of rural industries, the State Grid Corp of China has taken a number of measures to improve its customer service nationwide this year.

For example, staff from the State Grid's power supply company in Anyang, Henan province has paid many visits to multiple enterprises in local villages to learn their demands and potential needs for electricity and accordingly optimize the power-supply system in advance.

The power company recently sent staff to visit Yaoguang Agricultural Technology Co Ltd, a rural firm focusing on the cultivation and deep processing of Ganoderma lucidum (the Reishi mushroom). During the visit, the company learned that Yaoguang had added two new production lines and expanded its cold storage, which meant its electricity demand would increase significantly.

To alleviate the pressure possibly brought on by this development, the company helped replace Yaoguang's 100 kVA transformer with a 315 kVA transformer in November, ensuring stable production and operation. Yaoguang is currently expected to have an annual output value of over 20 million yuan ($2.8 million), helping increase the income of 15 surrounding villages by around 900,000 yuan.

As China continues on its path of advancing rural revitalization and boosting the modernization of the countryside, the country will keep cultivating rural industries in a precise and pragmatic manner, bringing about more measures to increase farmers' income and drive rural development, said the annual central rural work conference which was held in Beijing in December.

The revitalization of industries is a top priority during the process of rural revitalization. The nation will push forward rural industries with unique features in the future, according to Tang Renjian, minister of agriculture and rural affairs.

The State Grid's power supply company in Anyang said it will continue to carry out such visits and create more customer service channels, with an aim to help the local rural industries thrive.

According to the power company, it develops personalized service plans for each customer based on their characteristics and potential needs, and makes sure that all necessary facilities and resources are ready when the customers need to use them.
