Members of the Netherlands Chamber Choir, led by chief conductor Peter Dijkstra, made a visit to Fudan University on the eve of the premiere in the Chinese mainland of their multi-media performance Van Gogh in Me, on March 5.
Van Gogh in Me is an immersive audiovisual experience jointly produced by the choir and Italian multidisciplinary art studio fuse*. It will run for two consecutive nights at Shanghai Grand Theatre on March 6 and 7.
During the performance real-time data is collected via microphones and sensors, which detect and track the emotions, gestures and singing of the people taking part in the performance, which subsequently influence the visual output on the big screens that present re-imagined animated artworks by Vincent van Gogh and contemporary artist Gustav Klimt.
