Director Ding Sheng, renowned for his prowess in helming action blockbusters such as Jackie Chan's Police Story 2013, is breaking new ground with his latest cinematic endeavor, Nothing Can't be Undone by a Hotpot. This crime comedy, starring actress Yang Mi and actor Yu Qian, is slated for a nationwide theatrical release on May 1.

The film unfolds the tale of four strangers who, while divvying up stolen loot in the backstage storage room of a theater, unwittingly find themselves embroiled in a murder case.

Marking Ding's 10th feature film, this project was meticulously crafted during the years of pandemic restrictions, affording the director ample time and tranquility to hone his storytelling skills. Departing from his signature high-octane action sequences, Ding expressed his aspiration to master the art of weaving a finely structured narrative.

The film made its debut in Beijing on April 24, drawing the presence of the film's stars and esteemed industry luminaries, including filmmaker Feng Xiaogang, connoisseur Ma Weidu, and director Ying Da.

Reflecting on her collaboration with Ding, actress Yang reminisced about their first encounter during a commercial shoot when she was just 15 years old. Embracing her role as the lead character in Ding's latest work, Yang expressed her excitement, noting that the character she portrays promises to evoke fresh emotions, distinct from any of her previous roles.
