China ready to work with development in Northeast Asia

China stands ready to work with other parties to uphold peace, development and stability in Northeast Asia, a senior official said.
Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Korean Peninsula Affairs Liu Xiaoming made the remarks when attending the 32nd Northeast Asia Cooperation Dialogue in Tokyo, Japan, which was held from Wednesday to Friday.
Speaking at the dialogue, he emphasized that China has made positive contribution to promoting security and cooperation in Northeast Asia, and played a constructive role to facilitate the political settlement of the Korean Peninsula issue and other hotspot issues.
Liu had separate meetings with official representatives on the sidelines of the dialogue, including United States Senior Official for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Jung H. Pak, the Republic of Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director-General for North Korean Nuclear Affairs Lee Jun-il, and Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director-General for Asian and Oceanian Affairs Namazu Hiroyuki.
They exchanged views on the situation in Northeast Asia and the Korean Peninsula, as well as issues of shared interest.
