Walking into the ecological pigeon breeding industry park of Liuzhong village, Qukou town, Pingluo county, Shizuishan city in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, the sound of "cooing" is everywhere. Standardized cages are lined up one after another, with pigeons leisurely pecking at food inside the cages. On Monday, staff members from State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company visited the breeding industry park to conduct a safety electricity inspection and learn about the electricity needs.

The ecological breeding industry park project in Liuzhong village adopts a collaborative model between company, cooperative and farmers. Ningxia Yunling Agricultural Development signed a contract with the village collective cooperative, agreeing to implement unified breeds, feeding methods, epidemic prevention, and recycling. Each pair of squabs is set at a price of 40 yuan ($5.5).

After the project is completed, the village collective cooperative will share the profit with farmers via various mechanisms, including rental shed breeding, labor remuneration, share dividends, and courtyard breeding, to help villagers increase production and income. The project has an estimated investment of 12.15 million yuan. Covering an area of five hectares, it is divided into two phases. The main construction includes 27 pigeon breeding greenhouses, one pigeon garden, one processing workshop, and one cold storage facility. The construction of five greenhouses has been completed in the first phase, with each greenhouse costing about 430,000 yuan. Currently, 6,000 pigeons have been housed.

"The pigeon house features intelligent temperature control, uniform feed distribution, automatic waste removal, and automatic incubation. Sufficient electricity boosts the optimization of the breeding facility. It is driving the transformation from manual to fully automatic operations, which saves time and labor, and improves the surrounding environment. This not only increases the income of farmers, but also brings them a stronger desire toward prosperity," said the Party secretary of Liuzhong village.

The breeding park in Liuzhong village is an important source of income for farmers in the village and a pillar industry for the village collective cooperative. Therefore, State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company regularly records the electricity usage and needs of pigeon breeding. The company conducts thorough inspections of the electrical equipment, lines, and self-owned power sources at the breeding base, including feed mixers, temperature control devices, incubators, water pumps, and manure removal machines. Additionally, they promote electrical safety and energy-saving knowledge to breeders, provide on-site explanations of safety precautions, enhance safety risk awareness and guide farmers in using the "Online State Grid" platform.

Under the policy guidance of the co-construction of villages and the State Grid and rural revitalization, industries such as cattle, sheep and chicken farming are gradually expanding. State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company pays attention to seasonal climate conditions and strengthens special inspections and maintenance. The staff members closely monitor changes in enterprise loads and guide customers to use the online app. In the next stage, State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company will leverage grid-based services, refine measures for breeding farms, establish a regular service mechanism, improve service records and provide one-on-one tracking services to better grasp electricity business information. They will establish a rapid repair service mechanism, operate a 24-hour duty system and ensure on-call solutions to sudden failures, allowing breeders to use safe and reliable electricity.
