On June 26, the Bengbu Toupu 220 kilovolt transmission and transformation project was put into use after the successful power transmission of the No 1 main transformer and No 2 main transformer.
As a key project to alleviate peak load during this summer in Bengbu, Anhui province, the Bengbu Toupu 220 kV transmission and transformation project is also the third 220 kV substation in Bengbu’s Wuhe county. The design quality requirements for the project are very high as it plays a crucial role in improving the power supply capacity of Wuhe county and the surrounding power grid. It can effectively address the urgent need for electricity for local businesses and residents and provide a strong engine to drive the development of advanced manufacturing clusters such as power batteries, photovoltaic components and the largest-scale textile industry base in north Anhui.
As the design unit of this project, the State Grid Anhui Electric Power Economic and Technical Research Institute overcame various difficulties that arose from a tight schedule and heavy tasks and organized Communist Party members to provide on-site technical services. After investing a large amount of manpower and material resources, the project was put into use in accordance with the schedule. In order to improve the quality of the project, the design team of State Grid Anhui Electric Power Economic and Technical Research Institute applied new construction equipment and technologies such as mixed gas GIS (gas insulated switchgear) equipment and prefabricated auxiliary buildings. It also actively cooperated with the construction unit to carry out site selection and route comparison, on-site survey coordination, technical scheme optimization, equipment and material declaration and other work, to promote the high-quality progress of each stage of the design work.
Since the beginning of this year, the State Grid Anhui Electric Power Economic and Technical Research Institute has been engaged in the work and played its role in technical support. It has been effectively guaranteeing the timely commissioning of a batch of key projects for peak load this summer, including the Bengbu Toupu 220 kV transmission and transformation project and the Suzhou Suihe 220 kV transmission and transformation project, making continuous contributions to the power supply of the Anhui area.
