"The base, the first freshwater fish aquarium in China for comprehensive ways of use, has attracted more than 350,000 visits in its start year of 2023", said Zhang Teng, an official from local cultural tourism bureau. While functioning as a protection base, the site - with a floor area of 22,000 square meters - is also used to conduct practices for professionals and deliver online courses for students, the staff said. "Not to say it helps arousing public awareness of ecology protection as a busy destination for educational tourism and family trips," she added.
