Yu Xianhua, director of Hukou's aquatic life protection and rescue center, spoke about the county's important duty in implementing the 10-year fishing ban of the Yangtze River starting from January of 2022.

"Hukou has set up the country's first aid and patrol team for the Yangtze finless porpoise back in 2017 to start exploring aquatic life conservation with social participation," Yu told the reporter, adding that the team has observed and recorded the precious species more than 5,200 times since 2017.
