Aquatic life protection highlights county's tourism

With its rounded head and upturned mouth resembling a smile, it is affectionately dubbed "the smiling spirit of the Yangtze" and "smiling angel".

Two of the most famous living in the bay, named Huanhuan and Lele by netizens, were translocated to the conservation base in Hukou in February of 2023 from the Songmenshan area of the Poyang Lake. Their arrival was the first translocation conservation action of the species by Jiangxi, which has so far proven to be successful as the two have grown in health, from their original weights of 36kg and 45kg to over 60kg each.
