The project includes 800,000 kW of wind power and 200,000 kW of solar power. Following its commencement of operations, the installed capacity of new energy power generating units in the Hami city of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region reached 20.269 million kW, accounting for 68.53 percent of the total.

This project is one of the key projects for the construction of large-scale wind and photovoltaic bases in Gobi deserts and barren areas identified by the National Development and Reform Commission, China's economic regulator, according to the company.
