Futian district in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province, has emerged as a trailblazer in establishing a dynamic science innovation hub, distinguished by its modern and intelligent industry clusters.
The upcoming 26th China Hi-Tech Fair will be a pivotal platform for the district to unveil and celebrate its exceptional achievements.
Highlight exhibits of Futian district's pavilion include Shenzhen Zhenshi Medical Equipment's surgical robots for early-stage lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, Shenzhen International Quantum Academy's real-time error correction chip, and Jiatui Technology's SOON, a next-generation international business tool.
Futian district is rapidly developing major industrial clusters. Two clusters in the new energy and smart terminals sectors have a combined scale exceeding 100 billion yuan ($14 billion), with software and information services poised to become the district's third 100 billion yuan cluster.
In 2023, the value added by strategic emerging industries in Futian surged by 71.39 percent compared to 2020. The district has attained unprecedented independent innovation prowess, boasting over 208 patents per 10,000 individuals.
Futian secured the 9th spot on this year's list of the top 100 innovative districts, selected by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This marks a consistent rise in rankings over the years.
Futian leads the city in cultivating an innovative ecosystem. It is the province's only administrative district with four national-level intellectual property services projects.
The district established the country's first and only cluster area for international industrial and standardization organizations. Industrial services institutions such as conceptual verification centers and small- and medium-sized pilot project bases are densely distributed throughout the city.
