Former Palace Museum official under investigation

Wang Yamin, former executive deputy director of the Palace Museum, is under investigation for suspected severe violations of the Party disciplines and national laws, China's top anti-corruption watchdogs said.
The Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision disclosed this in an online statement on Friday.
The probe is being conducted by a disciplinary inspection group based in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and a supervisory team of Tieling, Liaoning province, according to the statement.
Public information shows that Wang, born in 1959, a native of Hebei province, worked for the provincial publishing industry from 1982 to summer 2006, and then he came to the Forbidden City Publishing House.
In April 2007, he was appointed deputy director of the Palace Museum. In January 2014, he served as the executive deputy director of the museum. He was also a member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
