Lenovo Group, the world's largest personal computer maker, has marked the beginning of its fifth decade with a bold vision to anchor its next chapter in artificial intelligence.

Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yang Yuanqing declared on Monday the coming decade as "Lenovo's AI decade," outlining a comprehensive strategy to embed AI across its operations, innovations, and brand identity.

Yang emphasized that Lenovo's future investments, capabilities, product development, and corporate culture will revolve around a singular goal: "making AI accessible and beneficial to every enterprise and individual."

He positioned "Hybrid AI" — a synergistic combination of personal, enterprise, and public AI systems — as the cornerstone of Lenovo's strategy.

"Only through integrating these three dimensions can we achieve truly pervasive and inclusive AI adoption," Yang said.

Reflecting on Lenovo's 40-year journey — from self-reliant startup to global tech leader — Yang framed the next decade as "Entrepreneurship 5.0."

Each prior decade, he noted, focused on distinct themes: self-owned branding, globalization, and diversification. Now, Hybrid AI will drive Lenovo's renewed entrepreneurial spirit, blending innovation with scalability, Yang added.

The strategy came after Lenovo reported a strong financial performance for the last quarter of 2024. The Beijing-based company said revenue in the quarter, which ended on Dec 31, grew 20 percent year-on-year to $18.8 billion, marking the third consecutive quarter of double-digit growth as its investment in AI drives businesses forward. Net income more than doubled year-on-year to $693 million.

Lenovo's roadmap underscores its pivot from hardware-centric roots to an AI-powered solutions provider. The company aims to democratize AI through hybrid cloud-edge architectures, localized large language models, and cross-device intelligence.
