Electric scooters decorated with China’s giant panda mascot “Upanda”, supplied by Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Luyuan Group, rolled through the streets of Bangkok this week, marking the launch of the “Boundless Creativity · Youth Link” China–Thailand youth cultural exchange event.
Organized by the Five Continents Communication Center and Chulalongkorn University, the program brings together young people from both countries through cultural activities and public engagement.
The Sino-Thai Youth Friendship Cycling Ride took center stage at the opening ceremony. Led by the official mascot Upanda (Apu), Chinese and Thai youth representatives rode a fleet of electric scooters decorated with friendship symbols through Bangkok’s historic and modern districts.
During the event, LUYUAN Group and Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU) donated a fleet of panda-themed electric vehicles to support youth exchange activities. The initiative will enable participants to engage in cultural exchange while documenting Thailand’s social development and local traditions, helping deepen mutual understanding between young people in the two countries.
Moreover, at the concurrent “Gifts from China” exhibition in Thailand, LUYUAN presented a range of technological innovations and highlighted environmentally friendly mobility concepts.
Looking ahead, the company said it aims to apply China’s advances in sustainable transport more broadly in international markets , contributing to green and smart mobility development.
