Tencent Holdings said it investigated and punished over 70 cases of internal misconduct in 2025, dismissing more than 90 employees for breaching internal rules, as China's internet giants intensify efforts to curb corruption in their ranks.
The cases of more than 20 employees were transferred to public security authorities as criminal offences were suspected, while police also detained more than 30 external parties linked to the cases, Tencent stated in a disclosure.
The company said it handled 19 major cases in 2025 involving serious violations of laws and internal rules, including commercial bribery and embezzlement.
The Tencent disclosure comes amid a broader push by China's major internet companies to tighten internal anti-graft controls following a series of high-profile cases involving work-related crimes.
