Passengers on train K5197, which runs between Harbin and Yabuli in Heilongjiang province, were offered a complimentary travel photography service on Sunday morning.
The service was launched as part of China Railway Harbin Group's first photography-themed train of the winter season. The train features refurbished carriages with expanded space and themed decorative settings designed for photography.
The initiative responds to rising demand driven by the growth of ice and snow tourism in Heilongjiang, which has attracted increasing numbers of visitors from southern China in recent years.
To provide the service, the group assembled a team of employees with photography and makeup experience and made use of architectural features at stations such as Harbin and Yabuli as shooting locations. Passengers were able to choose from a selection of costumes provided on board.
This winter, the operator expanded the service by increasing the number of photography outfits from 20 to 40 and adding multiple themed settings inside the carriages, including ice-and-snow, ethnic, and European-style designs.
