Born in 1997 in Harbin, China, Jin Ruoxi was admitted to the Beaux-Arts in Paris on leaving high school, and graduated in 2024. She has successfully navigated the Parisian art scene, exhibiting at prestigious institutions that represent a wide artistic spectrum. These venues range from those rooted in Parisian academic circles (Galerie du Crous), to renowned galleries dedicated to emerging artists (Galerie Mennour), and finally to Frac, one of France's most vital channels for public institutional support and collection. Recognized as an emerging professional artist, Jin still lives and works in Paris.

When I first saw Jin's work, I immediately sensed a quality that was both strange and interesting. I was curious about the remarkable momentum her career gained shortly after graduation, as if she were particularly "lucky". In the interview, I hoped to introduce to readers a form of contemporary artistic practice that may initially be considered difficult to access or understand.

The following is an edited transcript of the longer interview.
