PepsiCo Inc sees China's latest Five-Year Plan as a key framework for deepening its presence in one of its most important growth markets, chairman and chief executive officer Ramon Laguarta has said, signaling a continued commitment to investing in the country.

The US food and beverage giant said China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030), which prioritizes high-quality consumption, innovation-led growth and the expansion of domestic demand, aligns closely with its long-term strategy.

PepsiCo plans to deepen cooperation in areas including raising industry standards, advancing artificial intelligence-driven innovation and accelerating sustainable transformation, Laguarta said on the sidelines of the 2026 China Development Forum in Beijing.

PepsiCo, which entered China in 1981 during the early years of reform and opening-up, has since built a localized food and beverage ecosystem, becoming a fixture in China's economic development, with the market now serving as both a major growth engine and a source of global innovation.

Laguarta said the company aims to further embed itself in China's push for high-quality development, positioning the market as a continued driver of commercial growth.
