Recently, a 47-year-old Turkish woman achieved a remarkable recovery from urgent diffuse large B-cell lymphoma after receiving precise medical care at a hospital in Southwest China's Chongqing. Her case underscores China's exceptional international medical services.

The patient, using the pseudonym Zeynep, has been living and working in Chongqing. She was admitted to the Hematology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University on the last day of 2024 with a serious condition, characterized by widespread lymph node involvement. Rapid diagnostic procedures confirmed her diagnosis, which required immediate intervention. By early January 2025, her condition had worsened, leading to acute respiratory failure.

Initially, Zeynep and her family considered returning to Turkiye for treatment. However, reassured by Turkish experts' positive evaluation of her treatment plan, they decided to continue her medical care in China.

The hospital responded by assembling a multidisciplinary team from eight departments, including pathology, the clinical molecular center, and critical care medicine, to support her treatment.

"We adopted a personalized first-line treatment regimen, Pola R-CHP, which combines several targeted therapies," Zhang Hongbin, a chief physician at the Hematology Department and leader of the team, said.

"This approach could improve the patient's survival rate from 60 percent to 80 percent."
