Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, officially launched the city's comprehensive computing power operation service platform at the token level, the first of its kind nationwide, on Friday.
The platform is designed to serve as a high-standard bridge connecting the city's computing power resources with application needs, optimize the allocation of computing power resources, enable more artificial intelligence application scenarios to empower thousands of industries, and jointly foster a sound computing power ecosystem, Huang Jin, director of the Guangzhou government service and data management bureau, said.
Meanwhile, construction of four approved computing power projects officially began during Guangzhou's new computing infrastructure construction and computing power supply-demand matchmaking conference, which was held in the city's Huangpu district on Friday.
Upon completion, the projects will be able to add an intelligent computing capacity of 40,000 Pflops, marking Guangzhou's breakthrough in building a single intelligent computing center with 10,000 cards and 10,000 Pflops.
Construction of the projects that cost 4.84 billion yuan ($701.45 million) fully demonstrates Guangzhou's resolve and efficiency in advancing the development of computing infrastructure, she said.
The implementation and construction of computing infrastructure will further consolidate Guangzhou's role as a hub node in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Huang said.
It will gradually form a high-speed computing power network with unified standards and rules, providing strong support for the cross-regional and cross-entity interconnection and scheduling of computing power, ensuring smooth and stable computing services, and fostering a sound foundation for the long-term development and enhanced competitiveness of Guangzhou's computing power industry, she said.
Guangzhou city government attaches great importance to the development of computing infrastructure, regarding it as a key measure to foster new quality productive forces, promote high-quality development of the digital economy, and seize a leading position in the AI sector.
And the southern metropolis will continue to deepen its efforts in the computing power sector, using robust computing infrastructure to underpin the high-quality development of the digital economy in the months to come, Huang added.
