Spring gala celebrates culture under crabapple blossoms

In the courtyard of the Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling in Beijing, two ancient crabapple trees bloom each spring. This year, the 2026 Crabapple Gala and Poetry Party welcomed guests from over 50 countries and international organizations to enjoy the blossoms and celebrate cultural exchange.

The event featured Chinese Peking Opera, multilingual poetry recitals, and diverse musical performances, highlighting the fusion of different cultures. It also marked the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and African countries, underscoring the enduring friendship.
