JERUSALEM -- Chinese automaker Geely Auto launched a new electric van in Israel on Wednesday, its local importer Geo Mobility said in a statement.

The Farizon Xingxiang V7E offers a cargo volume of 6.95 cubic meters, a side loading door and a height of 1.985 meters, allowing access to most underground parking facilities, the statement said.

With a 66.67 kWh battery, the van has a driving range of up to 329 km per charge and a fast-charging time of around 30 minutes from 20 to 80 percent, it said.

It is offered in four versions tailored to different customer needs, ranging from cargo and delivery to passenger transport and combined business-family use, it added.

According to data released early June by the Israel Vehicle Importers Association, Chinese brands accounted for 78.4 percent of Israel's electric vehicle sales during the first five months of this year.

In the broader automotive market, including gasoline, hybrid and electric cars, Chinese manufacturers led overall sales with 62,133 units, the data showed.
