China welcomes Fahmy's appointment as Arab League head

China congratulates Nabil Fahmy, former Egyptian foreign minister, on being appointed as the new secretary-general of the Arab League, and looks forward to further advancing China-Arab relations during his tenure, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Friday.

As a good friend and partner of Arab countries, China is committed to strengthening solidarity and cooperation and working together to address challenges with the Arab side, he said.
