The Chinese edition of From a Herder's Home to the Prime Minister's Residence of Mongolia: The Autobiography of D. Terbishdagva was launched in Beijing on Monday.

The autobiography records the life of Dendev Terbishdagva, a veteran Mongolian politician whose career took him from a herder's family to serving as the country's deputy prime minister from 2012 to 2014, and acting prime minister in November 2014.

Addressing the launch ceremony at the Mongolian Embassy in China, Terbishdagva said the Chinese edition introduces Mongolia's history, development, nomadic cultural heritage and the value of contemporary life of Mongolian people to Chinese readers.

Beyond his personal journey, Terbishdagva said he hopes the book will also offer insights into Mongolia's development over the past century, its achievements and challenges, the nomadic wisdom of living in harmony with nature, and the country's modernization.

Ma Hui, vice-minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, called the publication a concrete example of promoting mutual learning among civilizations through book translation and publishing.

While cooperation between countries relies on consensus and institutional mechanisms, enduring friendship is rooted in the understanding, respect and affinity shared by their peoples, which lays a solid foundation for the lasting and stable development of China-Mongolia relations, Ma said.

Nyamaa Enkhbold, Mongolian ambassador to China, said the publication is a practical step toward implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state in their joint statement issued in 2022, which called for expanding bilateral cooperation in culture, education, science and technology, and strengthening people-to-people exchanges.

He expressed hope that the book would inject fresh momentum into bilateral cooperation in publishing and cultural exchanges, allowing more outstanding works from both countries to reach each other's readers and further deepen the friendship between the neighboring nations.
