Education technology company Xueersi launches AI-powered tutoring system

By CHENG YU | chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2026-07-06 19:02

Chinese education technology company Xueersi has unveiled a new artificial intelligence-powered tutoring system and a flagship line of learning tablets, betting that personalized AI instruction will become a key differentiator as competition intensifies in China's education technology market.

Xueersi introduced its new AI tutor, an upgraded English-learning platform and the T6 series of learning devices, underscoring how Chinese education companies are increasingly embedding generative AI into consumer learning products.

The new AI tutor is designed to act more like a private teacher than a homework assistant, it said. Students can photograph homework assignments or exam papers using the learning device, allowing the AI system to analyze mistakes, identify underlying knowledge gaps through natural-language interaction and historical learning records, and generate personalized study plans.

Rather than relying on static recommendations, the system continuously updates learning paths based on student performance, creating what the company described as a dynamic feedback loop between diagnosis and instruction.

The AI tutor is integrated with TAL's mathematics enrichment curriculum through an "AI dual-teacher" model, in which prerecorded lessons are delivered by human instructors while an AI assistant supervises learning, answers questions and adjusts lesson difficulty based on each student's progress.

Alongside the AI tutor, TAL introduced "Global Academy", an English-learning system aimed at families seeking international curricula. Available on selected T6 models, the platform combines European and US English-learning standards and offers resources ranging from early-language education to preparation for English proficiency exams such as KET and PET.

The platform includes graded digital reading materials, AI-assisted reading guidance, speaking practice with AI tutors and interactive English-learning content designed to develop both language proficiency and cross-cultural communication skills.

The company also launched an AI-powered note-taking application that automatically captures and organizes learning content, as well as an upgraded parent application incorporating new AI functions.
